Airtel Digital TV Review

I had great expectations with Airtel Digital TV. My decision to get this Direct-to-Home (DTH) set for my home was solely based on its brand name. However, soon I realized that buying Airtel Digital TV was a bad decision.

There lots of problems that I have to deal with this DTH. I have to handle lots of technical difficulties with this DTH. The problem is their incapability to give an iota of support for these difficulties. Their customer support is really pathetic, to say the least. The customer support executives seem to be quite ignorant of even the basic troubleshooting. I have to rely on the local technicians for even minor problems.

There is also a wide gulf between what was promised to me and what is being delivered to me. I was promised not to pay any money till the first six months. However, that was just a smart move by the company. In fact, I was asked to pay from the very first month. There are lots of hidden charges that this operator charges.

The selection of channels is also not as told to me by the sales executive. Maximum no. of my favourite channels is clubbed into different groups. This group is exclusive and if I select any channels from this group then I have to pay more. When I was buying this DTH then the sales personnel had told me about these channels free for my subscription. When I contacted the support staff then got a rude answer that policy has been changed. This is nothing short of open cheating.
The picture quality of this DTH is good. I have not experienced the picture quality of the competitor’s but definitely what I am seeing at present is far much better than what I was getting with cable TV.

On the whole, I am not in a position to recommend this DTH to anyone. I want to get rid of this, but the investment made has to be taken out first for a middle class person. But, as soon as possible, I will quit this DTH. This is simply not worth possessing.
